- If you are currently teaching elementary school consider a master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in reading.
- If you are a middle school teacher consider a master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in middle childhood.

- Submit an on-line application
- Request that 2 official transcripts be sent to 418 White Hall, P.O. Box 5190, Kent, Ohio 44242-0001.
- Prepare a goal statement (pdf)
- Submit 2 letters of recommendation (pdf)
Note: Family & Consumer Studies admission requires 3 letters of recommendation.
- Take GRE, if required

- Please check your admission status one month after submitting all documents listed above.
- Log onto Banner Self-serve at http://www.admissions.kent.edu/apply to track your admission status and materials. NOTE: you will need your Banner ID number and PIN that was sent to you when you applied for admission.
- Once you are admitted, you will be assigned an advisor. Schedule an appointment as soon as possible to complete your plan of study.
Application materials should be submitted at least 9-12 weeks before beginning actual coursework.
