Proposed Master's Degree in Computing Science Education (38 hrs)
Computing / Technology
After successful completion of the Computer/Technology Endorsement program graduates are able to:
- Read, interpret, and evaluate research from Instructional Technology and Education;
- Apply systematic design principles including instructional analysis, design, development, and evaluation to a variety of instructional problems and settings;
- Develop web-based instructional materials with computer software applications including word processing, Web development, spreadsheet, database, presentation, multimedia, and graphics programs;
- Apply principles of visual design to the design of instructional materials;
- Describe research and development trends and issues in Instructional Technology;
- Describe major types of distance learning technologies and plan instruction for each type;
- Describe popular forms of authoring systems and develop multimedia instructional materials in an authoring language;
- Distinguish network topologies and describe basic operating principles of computer networks;
- Set up and maintain computer networks at a basic level;
- Describe various change management models, and apply change models to implementing technological change in schools;
- Apply principles of instructional design to computer-based learning programs;
- Develop internet-learning environments including asynchronous and synchronous communications and simple websites

Educational Psychology
Distance Learning and the eMed
The Instructional Technology Program offers opportunities to take most of its courses at a distance. In fact, you can earn our masters degree entirely online, with or without the Computing/Technology Licensure Endorsement, through our electronic Masters of Education (eMEd) program.
Instructional Technologist
The ITEC general masters degree is for teachers who simply want to add the masters and for those outside of K-12 education who want to develop knowledge and skills for training, training development, multimedia education, and other possible positions.
