ksu excellence in action Grants

Dr. Olds is working on projects with three graduate students:

  1. Crystal Franklin (doctoral student) and he are analyzing KSU alcohol data some of which will be presented at the American Academy of Health Behavior meeting in March, 2008.
  2. Tanya Robinson (doctoral student) has recently received a positive review from the Journal of Community Health on manuscript examining the role of an ecologic approach to promoting healthy eating among low income African Americans.
  3. Suzanne Aufdemkampe (Masters) and Jeanine Mincher (doctoral) are helping with data collection and analysis of BMI assessments at Portage county schools.

Faculty grants: Dr. Olds is working on the following grant activities:

  1. Co-investigator of the Ohio Tobacco Research and Evaluation Center at Case Western Reserve University's Center for Health Promotion Research that is  funded by the Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation.
  2. Co-investigator of a School Tobacco-Free Policy project funded by the Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation.
  3. Principal investigator of the KSU Social Norms Drinking project funded by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services
  4. Kele Ding, Dennis Thombs and I are working on a paper that is examining the methodological influence of skip patterns on both missing data and prevalence rates of youth substance use.
